A way of building systems that do not rely on exploitation or ‘alienated’ forms of labour or exchange. More specifically, these groups are a direct challenge to the dominant neo-liberal model of capitalist economics. Methods and tactics range from subverting the capitalist exchange system (black market trading, pirating, bartering systems), to supplementing the capitalist system in unique ways (creation of local currencies and the re-definition of ‘paid’ labour), to the creation of new economic models (participatory economics, free exchange systems).
